Environmental Policy

1. Policy Statement

1WL Agency is committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner and to making practical, proportionate decisions that reduce the environmental impact of its activities. As a digital agency, much of our work is delivered remotely and electronically, which already limits many of the environmental impacts associated with traditional office-based businesses. We aim to build on that model by working efficiently, reducing unnecessary waste, and considering environmental impact as part of normal business decision-making.

2. Scope

This policy applies to the business activities of 1WL Agency, including day-to-day operations, purchasing decisions, use of technology, business travel, and disposal of equipment and materials.

3. Our Commitments

1WL Agency is committed to the following principles:

  • reducing unnecessary waste and favouring digital processes over paper-based ones wherever practical
  • minimising unnecessary business travel by using remote meetings and online collaboration tools as the default where appropriate
  • making reasonable efforts to use energy-efficient devices, systems, and services
  • maintaining and extending the useful life of IT equipment where practical before replacement
  • ensuring that obsolete equipment and business waste are disposed of responsibly through appropriate recycling or authorised disposal routes
  • considering environmental factors, where relevant and proportionate, when selecting suppliers, services, and equipment
  • encouraging efficient working practices that support lower resource use and reduced environmental impact
  • reviewing this policy periodically to ensure it remains relevant to the way the business operates

4. How This Applies to Our Business

As a service-led business operating primarily through digital tools and remote working, the most relevant environmental areas for 1WL Agency are:

  • reducing travel-related emissions
  • limiting paper and printing
  • using equipment responsibly and replacing it only when necessary
  • choosing efficient digital systems and suppliers where practical
  • disposing of electrical equipment and other business materials responsibly

This approach allows the business to focus on the areas where it can have the most meaningful and realistic impact.

5. Responsibility

Overall responsibility for this policy sits with the directors of 1WL Agency. Environmental considerations will be taken into account as part of operational and purchasing decisions, in a way that is appropriate to the size and nature of the business.

6. Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated where necessary to reflect changes in business operations, legal requirements, or practical working methods.
