Tristan Specialist Doors – Branding, WordPress Design & Long-Term Support

Client Overview

Tristan Specialist Doors (TSD) are a specialist manufacturer and supplier of high-quality doors for architectural and commercial applications. Having worked with TSD since our earliest days as an agency, they represent one of our most longstanding client relationships — a partnership built on trust, shared ambition, and consistent results over many years.

The Challenge

TSD came to us requiring a new website to accompany a business re-launch following a restructuring of the company. The existing site had served them well and had developed a useful level of organic search visibility — something we were determined to protect and build on through the new build. The opportunity to refresh the TSD brand identity at the same time made this a comprehensive project covering design, development, and brand.

TSD's confidence in our process meant they were prepared to trust our judgement on key design and structural decisions, allowing us to work efficiently without the back-and-forth that can slow a project considerably. Good quality product imagery was available from the outset, which gave the design strong visual material to work with from the beginning.

Our Approach

As with all projects of this type, we began with the brand. Six or seven logo concepts were developed, refined to three final directions for client review, and a preferred option selected. A full logo suite was produced to ensure TSD always had the right format available for any application — website, print, signage, or digital.

With the brand confirmed, we moved into the WordPress build using our combined design-and-build process — constructing and styling each page template simultaneously rather than working from flat design files. This approach is efficient, allows for real-time design decisions to be tested as they are made, and produces a result that is immediately functional rather than requiring a separate design-to-development handoff.

Wireframes were produced for every page template before development began, ensuring TSD could review the structure and content hierarchy before visual styling was applied. Any concerns were addressed at this stage, reducing revisions later in the process.

"1WL have been a valued partner over the years, from the initial build through various upgrades and ongoing website & hosting support. They came recommended and after our first meeting we were confident they were the right choice to carry out what we wanted.

We love their proactive approach, keeping us abreast of anything new that might be useful to our business, but are never pushy - they simply pose the facts and benefits."

The Outcome

The project was completed efficiently and within a tight timeframe — a reflection of the clear brief, the client's trust in our process, and the strength of our combined design-and-build approach. TSD reviewed the site, requested a small number of targeted adjustments, and signed it off for launch within a matter of weeks.

The new brand and website gave TSD a modern, professional identity that reflects the quality of their products and the standing of the business. We continue to provide managed hosting and support, maintaining the site's performance and security as the business evolves.
