The Gifted Food Co is a retail concept built around a range of personalised gift boxes, created in collaboration with an existing client who identified a gap in the market for a distinctive, food-focused gifting product. The project involved bringing a new brand and product range to life online, with a fully functional e-commerce system and a custom fulfilment workflow built from the ground up.
As a new product launch with limited initial market feedback, the brief required a pragmatic approach that balanced ambition with cost-effectiveness. The website needed to enable customers to browse, personalise, and purchase gift boxes online — with each order automatically triggering a fulfilment process managed by a third-party supplier.
Two critical integrations were required: a payment system capable of handling the product's personalisation options, and a connection to the fulfilment partner's system to pass order details — including individually personalised message cards — automatically on purchase.
We proposed building on an existing WordPress foundation, adapting the architecture of a related client site to reduce initial development cost without compromising quality. This allowed more of the available budget to be directed towards the bespoke features that were central to the product experience.
The site architecture and page structure were planned carefully from the outset, with customer journey and conversion rate at the forefront of every decision. Design continuity across pages that had not been formally designed was maintained by carrying through established style decisions systematically.
The Gifted Food Co launched with a fully operational online store capable of handling the complete customer journey — from product selection and personalisation through to payment and fulfilment — without any manual intervention between purchase and despatch.
The order tracking and reporting system gave the business clear visibility of every transaction, and the Analytics implementation provided the insight needed to understand and improve the purchase funnel over time.
