Client Overview

Astute Group is a specialist business operating across multiple divisions within the electrical components sector. With expertise spanning component distribution, creative design services, and global sourcing, the group had grown to a point where its web presence could no longer reflect the structure and breadth of what it offered.

The Challenge

Having hosted and supported Astute's primary corporate website for several years, we were well placed to understand the scale of the challenge when the group decided to restructure its digital presence. Rapid business expansion and a series of acquisitions had seen the existing website grow quickly, but that growth came at the cost of clarity. Users were finding it increasingly difficult to navigate to the right division or service area.

The solution needed to separate the group's three distinct divisions into standalone websites, each with its own identity and purpose, whilst bringing them together under a single, efficiently managed WordPress platform. The additional requirement was to consolidate several existing websites onto that same infrastructure, making ongoing management considerably more straightforward.

Our Approach

We proposed a WordPress Multisite configuration as the ideal solution — a single WordPress installation capable of hosting multiple distinct websites, each with its own domain, design, and content, all sharing a common underlying system.

The planning phase was thorough. With at least four websites coming together under one platform, the database structure and administrative architecture needed to be mapped out carefully before any development began. We worked closely with a freelance design partner to ensure the front-end templates aligned with the group's refreshed brand direction throughout the process.
