Bespoke Data Feed System Competent Persons Scheme

The Requirement

The Local Authority Building Control (LABC) got in touch with us to enquire if we could help with something a bit different. Something more technical than a normal website. There's nothing we enjoy more than a new technical challenge.

The task was to rebuild an online reference for checking accreditations for tradesmen and women in the construction industry. Governing bodies including NAPIT and CORGI, include their members in the Competent Persons Scheme.

LABC were in the throes of rebuilding their website. We would ensure the CPS followed suit.

The Approach

For this project we were liaising with LABC and 2 web agencies. One for the new website build, the other have created the old CPS system.

As CPS data (lists of publicly available business contact info) is provided by the schemes themselves (NAPIT etc), we wanted to make the transition as simple for them as possible.

The Work

We produced a system that simplified upload of data to the CPS database and created an interface make checking approved trades people by location, as fast and simple as possible.

The Results

The system is now live and running in the new LABC website to provide CPS data.
